Granted, both players get off to a poor start. But the match actually gets much better in the middle and late games.
And keep in mind that this tour starts at noon and the final started at 11pm and went well after midnight, so fatigue is probably a factor. Also, Sharp Shooters table 1 is notoriously tight.

About soft break:
During the Eurotour 2006,Stephan Cohen, a french pool player did VERY soft break (with a close-bridge) during that competition, and his percentage of balls pocketed on his breaks was almost 100%!!!
Plus, he almost had eachtime a shot on a ball after the break.
The average percentage for a player with "normal" break is about 53,54%...
Interesting, no?

That match was dreadful to watch. I got to game 3 and had to turn it off.
I think that we have all had days like those 2 are having this match!
