I would like to thank Grady Mathews and John Di Toro for their excellent commentary on this match.

We recorded the commentary at a remote location and experienced some minor technical difficulties. Consequently, there is a short gap in the middle of the match (only about 5 minutes).

It was a pleasure watching the legendary Grady Mathews team up with my old friend John Di Toro. These two make a great team! And I look forward to working with both of them in the future.

This is even better than the Hopkins-Hohmann match. They both kinda choke at the end. It was just a battle to see who choked the least.

Tue. 10/16 I got to meet John Schmidt at Q-masters Billiards in Va. Beach. He was playing Three-Cushion Billiards. It was interesting watching such a great straight-pool player learn something new. He was making some incredible shots but said all-night long he had only put together 3 makes in a row. The previous night I got to see him totally destroy a finnish player at the US open. I really think that his stroke will allow him to become great at any game. Also, I met and got signatures from about 30 top pros while I was there, Schmidt and Johhny Archer were by far the nicest and most personable. John was more than polite considering how awed I was by being in his prescence. Nearly all the players in the tournament were very short and in great shape physically, which gives me little hope seeing as how I'm neither. The only players I noticed who were bigger than 5'8 were Archer, Shawn Putnam, and Gabe Owen. It was an incredible experience in which the best part was hangin' w/ Smitty.

Another good 14/1 match on PPV!
The end of the match was quite surprising!
I think the key of the match is that one ball from the rack for John Schmidt (point 81 or 82 i don't remember exactly) that gave him enough confidence to play a long and beautifull run. The other key is the safety play by Thomas Engert.

We've got world class sportscasters here! Thanks to the Professor and John Di Toro.

This was ann awesome match, I love watching John play. He beat me in 9 ball back in 99 when I didnt know who he was and I played him for a second set for the rest of my dough just to see if he could fire balls in from everywhere again and he did, I quit and went home broke. Thanks Nick!

A great match between two titans. Both have ran more than 400 balls. I like to thank the owners of this site for posting these videos. Grady and John's commentary was excellent. I am looking forward to more 14.1 videos. I would like to see grady commentate some 1 hole videos.

Thanks again,

I'm happy to see this game put on video,I thought the misses by both players at the end was uncharacteristic but I enjoyed it just the same.

First of all let me say thank you for these online videos. It is interesting to see players from the Florida area compete. The 9 ball matches are usually very good...the 10 ball matches are something that we don't see too much of around here...Southwest...at least not in the rooms I go to. Special thanks for the straight pool and one pocket videos. More quality one pocket if possible...even banks would be good. Excellent site...thanks again.
